OMEGA 3 Oils
Grass-fed lamb has been shown to average at least 25% more omega-3s than conventionally fed lamb, including as much as 49% more ALA (alpha-linolenic acid, the basic building block for omega-3s).
CLA (Conjugated linoleic acid) is found in high amounts in grass-fed lamb. Increased intake of this nutrient is associated with reduced inflammation and reduced body fat. Both of these would be expected to lower heart disease risk.
Vitamins & Proteins
Grass-fed lamb is an excellent source of vitamin B12 and a very good source of protein, selenium and niacin. It is also a good source of zinc and phosphorus.
Maintaining our ewes in these conditions requires time and effort including adequate housing and careful feeding of locally sourced organic hay and natural mineral salts.
Breeding only pure breed Katahdin and Dorper ewes to a pedigree and registered Dorper Ram ensures hybrid vitality whilst retaining the quality of mild flavoured lambs.
Our lambs are born in Spring of each year enabling them to reach optimum weight and condition by late October.
For clients interested in placing an order, we offer only whole lambs (approx. 40 to 50 lbs) prepared by Valley Wide Meats in Enderby in a precise and Canadian approved manner.
